Pinnacle Sandpiper

Just 75 miles southeast of Dallas a new lakefront community with beautiful lakefront property has completed development of the majority of the infrastructure and is now selling lots. Sandpiper is a new phase of Pinnacle Golf & Boat Club and as such Sandpiper property owners have access to all of the Pinnacle facilities which include a gated entrance, beautiful pool and clubhouse on a bluff overlooking the lake, tennis court, marina with covered boat slips, restaurant, and more. As importantly, Sandpiper property became a part of a very active and extremely friendly community.

Within the Sandpiper development there are 43 lots along a deep channel or nestled under the tall oaks of east Texas. The 23 waterfront lots are huge and all have steel retaining walls and easy access to open water. The interior lots are nestled under the trees on heavily wooded gently rolling lots with views of either a park, the golf course, or the lake. In early 2009, prices ranged from $325,000 to $850,000 for waterfront and $79,000 to $100,000 for interior lots.

In addition to some fantastic lots, Sandpiper property owners can become social or golf members of Pinnacle Golf and Boat Club and enjoy the tennis court, the pavilion, golf course, and clubhouse with a restaurant and pool. Beautiful homes line the 7.5 miles of shoreline of Pinnacle and all are well maintained and landscaped.

Pinnacle has a very active and friendly membership - it's impossible to drive, walk, or play golf without the neighbors waving with a big smile or stopping to say hi. The women's club members can participate in a variety of activities and special interest groups some of which include: book clubs, bridge clubs, golf tournaments, luncheons, a variety of fund raising events, and much more. Pinnacle also sponsors a number of events throughout the year including a rousing 4th of July celebration.

The Pinnacle Clubhouse sits on a knoll overlooking the pool, tennis court, and lake, providing unbelievably beautiful sunsets. A new chef recently took over the kitchen and has created an innovative and enticing menu for dinners. Breakfast and lunch are also available. The clubhouse bar is home to a well attended Friday and Saturday evening happy hour.

A large covered pavilion with a huge stone fireplace, picnic tables, and serving area is available for special events. The pavilion sits on a bluff and provides panoramic views of the lake and the green area that leads to the lake. To learn more about Pinnacle, read our  or visit the .

But the pride and joy of Pinnacle Golf & Boat Club is the 18 hole championship golf course. This par 72 6431 yard course is heavily treed, very scenic, lots of fun, and very challenging. Each of the holes is different and unique, the terrain is heavily treed and gently rolling. You'll find a little bit of everything on Pinnacle Golf Course, which makes it memorable and enjoyable - plenty of bunkers, water on 10 holes, very narrow to wide open fairways, some risk reward shots, challenging approaches, elevated tee boxes and greens, and lots of dog legs.

The greens are about average size, in very good condition, and have a lot of slope and some undulation. Last time we played they were smooth, a little fast, and very true. Most of the fairways are gently rolling, in above average condition, very narrow and put a premium on shot making and accuracy. In addition to the trees, you'll need to avoid the 43 bunkers which are in near perfect condition with thick, soft, white sand.

The pro shop has a variety of equipment and gear and all of the golf carts are new as of 2009. Before you set out to play the course, stop by the driving range and practice your approach shots and hitting the ball straight. Golf memberships are reasonably priced and the men's and women's league are active with tournaments and socials. To learn more about the golf course, read our

A new marina with a boat ramp, small yacht clubhouse, and covered slips in a well protected cove was completed in late 2009. From the marina or a private dock, Sandpiper provides easy access to Cedar Creek Lake which has plenty of coves with smooth water for skiing, boarding, or just dropping an anchor and enjoying the sun and water. According to Texas Parks & Wildlife the fishing is excellent for catfish, white and striped bass, and good for largemouth bass and crappie. On warm summer weekends, there are two party coves with sandy bottoms for socializing, swimming, or people watching. Cedar Creek Lake has a couple restaurants that you can boat up to, both of which have live music on the deck and pretty good food. The shoreline of Cedar Creek Lake is covered with some stunningly huge and beautiful homes which makes cruising the lake enjoyable. With its tall trees, big skies, fantastic lake lots, and beautiful custom-built waterfront homes, it’s easy to see why D Magazine named this area one of the “Best Places to Live in Dallas” under the category of “Worth the Commute."
