Review of Lazy Longhorn RV Park - Victoria, Texas
Lazy Longhorn RV Park is a cozy small full hook-up RV park on the south side of Victoria and conveniently located to Highway 59 which leads east to Houston (125 miles) or toward Corpus Christi 95 miles to the south west.
The Park is a mixture of long pull-throughs and back-ins, all of which are full hook-up sites, plus a couple cabins. Trailer Life rated Lazy Longhorn RV Park a 10/10/8.5, Woodalls gave it 5 Ws, and it's in the top 1% of all of the Good Sam Parks in the United States. The Park is a long U shaped park with 31 pull-through sites in the middle of the U and 72 back-in sites along the perimeter of the Park.
The roads and sites are paved, trees provide shade to all of the sites, and you'll find some good amenities. The Park is family owned, a mixture of monthlies and traveling guests, well maintained, has a gated entry, is quiet, and the staff and owners are very friendly and helpful.
Discounts are available for AAA, Good Sam, TACO, FMCA, and others.
Lazy Longhorn RV Park has 105 sites that are a mixture of 75' pull through sites and back-in sites. All of the sites are paved and perfectly level and include a concrete picnic slab with a small picnic table, grassy area with trees/shrubs and landscaping between the sites, and conveniently located hook-ups for water, cable, sewer, and electric. The owners have done an excellent job of landscaping the park with a variety of trees and shrubs which enhance the beauty of the park as well as provide shade.
Access to all of the sites is down a long U shaped paved road (pull through sites are in the middle and back-in sites area along the perimeter of the park) - which gives you easy access in and out of the park and to each of the individual sites. It's a little tight for big rigs with a TOAD, but with care you won't have any problem getting in and out of your site.
In addition to the RV sites, Lazy Longhorn RV Park has two 12' by 26' cabins.
Unlike most small parks, Lazy Longhorn RV Park in Victoria has a number of amenities for you to enjoy during your stay, some of which include:
We had scheduled a late afternoon tee time at Riverside Golf Course but had to cancel because we got in too late. And unfortunately, we didn't have much time the next day because we needed to head out early for Thanksgiving in Port Aransas.
We did get in a couple games of shuffleboard and had a delicious dinner at the Pump House, which was recommended by the Park owners. The Pump House has lots of interesting history, excellent food with some unique choices, good service, a beautiful deck overlooking the Guadalupe River, and great margaritas!
On a previous trip we played Colony Creek Golf Course - here is a link to review and rating of Colony Creek Golf Course.

Victoria is only 29 miles from the Gulf of Mexico and all that it has too offer (boating, fishing, sand and sun). There are lots of options for shopping, dining, and entertainment including the second oldest dance hall in Texas, Schroeder Hall
Texas Outside uses a tough rating scale and it’s difficult for a campground to get a “10”. Each park is rated on:
