Corpus Christi's status as one of the breeziest cities in the nation makes it a hot spot for those who love wind and waves. The city annually hosts the U.S. Open Windsurfing Regatta. Sailboat regattas are also held each Wednesday evening on Corpus Christi Bay; spectators can appreciate the view from the marina. The variety of waterways, from open Gulf beaches to protected coves, including the Laguna Madre, Gulf of Mexico, Corpus Christi Bay, and Bird Island Basin, makes the Corpus Christi area attractive to beginners and experts alike. Rentals and lessons are readily available.

The Corpus Christi Marina is home to all types of water sports, sightseeing boats, sailing lessons, fishing charters, and restaurants. For visiting mariners, the marina features over 500 wet slips available for commercial and pleasure craft, four new state-of-the-art floating piers, fuel dock and pump out station, trailered and board boat storage, boat repair facility with travel lift, free launching ramps, and bait stand. Slip rentals for visiting boats are available at daily, weekly, and monthly rates. Rates for visiting vessels are based on LOA, plus a $2 per night utility fee. Corpus Christi Sailing Center, Inc.

Offers a full compliment of sailing services for the beginner, intermediate, and advanced sailor. Sailing school is an American Sailing Association (ASA) Authorized Training Facility. Courses are conducted by experienced Captains who are licensed by the U.S Coast Guard. Features a weekend sailing school for beginners, captained charters, certification courses, and bareboat charters for the experienced sailor. Private instruction in all aspects of sailing is available.
