Located about 25 miles east of Huntsville on Lake Livingston in the heart of East Texas, Waterwood National Resort and Golf Course is out in the country with clean air, tall pine trees, and plenty of outdoor activities for you to enjoy. Waterwood National receives continual honors in Texas statewide polls and was rated as one of the Top Texas Resort Courses by the Dallas Morning News. The resort includes:

• marina on Lake Livingston with slips

• 62 quest rooms -- Cabanas, suites, and the Lodge

The banquet room and dining hall overlook the pool, two small but pretty ponds, and the 1st and 18th hole. Accommodations are in oversized cabanas next to the club house with patios and balconies overlooking the golf course and two small ponds. The Forest Lodge rooms which are a bit more secluded and about a mile and a half from the club house overlook a pond and swimming pool. The Cabana rooms are clean but dated but you're not here for luxury accommodations and pampering -- you come here for some of the best golf in Texas and lots of other outdoor activities to keep you busy. At the time of our visit the room rates varied from $40 to $100 per night and the golf packages were $195 for the weekend (3 days, 2 nights in the Cabanas, and 3 days of unlimited golf with cart).
