PGA West Stadium Golf Course Review
We are not aware of any greater challenge in the game of golf than the PGA West TPC Stadium Golf Course, which was designed by Pete Dye. This course has a slope of 150 and a rating of 76.1 from the tips and is ranked by Golf Digest as the 4th toughest courses in America. Pete is quoted as saying "Golf is not a fair game, so why build a fair course?" The TPC Stadium Course is also rated as one of the "Top 100 Courses in the World" by Golf Magazine and it was the original home of the Skins Game. This is one of those "you gotta see it to believe it" golf courses - words and pictures can't describe this fantastic course.
TPC Stadium is packed with steep faced pot bunkers, lots of sand, water on 9 holes, plenty of sidehill lies, and more fairway berms than I have ever experienced. You really need your A game and the best course management you have ever played to score well on this course. To enjoy your round, move up one or two tee boxes, forget your score, and enjoy the scenery, the challenge, and the variety that PGA West Stadium Golf Course offers. Make sure you steady your nerve or have lots of old golf balls when you come to the island green of #17, known as Alcatraz, which is about as hard to get on as the real Alcatraz was for prisoners to get off of.
