Review of the Celebrity Course

Wow - this could be our favorite course in the United States! In fact at times we felt like we were golfing in Hawaii with swaying palm trees, cascading waterfalls, lush conditions, white sand bunkers, and majestic mountains as a backdrop. As pretty as this course is, Celebrity will challenge your game and shot making with contoured narrow twisting fairways, blind shots, water, strategically placed bunkers, and challenging green complexes.
Players Course at Indian Wells Golf Resort

Indian Wells Golf Resort - Players Course

Indian Wells, CA

Texas Outside Rating 9.2

Review of the Players Course

The Players Course at Indian Wells is a perfect example of why we continue to play this expensive, time consuming, and frustrating game.

It's fun, challenging but fair, every hole is unique and memorable, the scenery is stunning, the green complexes are demanding, and the service and facilities are first class. Shot makers will enjoy playing this track.

Marriott Shadow Ridge

Marriott Shadow Ridge

Palm Desert, CA

Texas Outside Rating 9.0

Review of Marriott's Shadow Ridge Golf Course

Six time major champion Nick Faldo designed Shadow Ridge and stated: "The fairways are typically generous, but our bunkering style is impressively bold." And he's right on - off the tee you can let it rip but you better miss the 97 bunkers that line the fairways and surround the greens, they are big, steep, and deep. The course if fairly traditional with some very good holes, stunning views, excellent conditions, good service, and up scale facilities.

PGA Stadium Course Review

Rated one of the "Top 100 Courses in the World" by GOLF Magazine and the 4th toughest course in America in Golf Digest’s "Top 50 Toughest Courses in America" (2007), you'll be hard pressed to find a more challenging and exciting round then what'll you find at the PGA Stadium Course.

At 7,300 yards, the TPC Stadium Course has the highest stroke (76.1) and slope (150) ratings of all the courses at PGA WEST. Bring your "A" game when you tee off on this beauty. It's tough, but fun and very unique and interesting.

Westin Mission Hills

Westin Mission Hills Gary Player Course Review

Among its many accolades over the years Golf Digest in 2010 has made this course one of the Top 75 courses in America. The Westin Mission Hills Gary Player Course is distinguished by hidden pin placements, carries over water, pot bunkers, elevated tees and railroad ties.

Water on 11 holes, cascading waterfalls, fountains, lush greens, swaying palm trees, and the mountains looming in the background make the Gary Player Course visually stunning as well as fun to play.

Westin Mission Hills Pete Dye Course

Westin Mission Hills Pete Dye Course

Rancho Mirage, CA

Texas Outside Rating 8.6

Westin Mission Hills Pete Dye Course Review

The Pete Dye Course at The Westin Mission Hills can be described as a fairly typical Pete Dye resort course - straight ahead holes, lots of strategically placed bunkers, wide open fairways, and raised rather challenging greens. It's fun and fair for all levels of play.

When we played, the course was in excellent condition from the tee box to the cup. And Troon does a superb job of providing excellent service and keeping the course pristine and well manicured. Bring you camera - the mountains, trees, lush fairways, and sparkling ponds make for some Kodak moments.
