Heat Up Fall Travel with Oktoberfest in San Antonio, TX
The River Walk and the surrounding historic area of San Antonio will erupt with excitement during this year's annual Oktoberfest, celebrating the German heritage through cooked cuisine and all kinds of beverages. The festival takes place at the Beethoven Halle and Garten on October 1, 2, 8 and 9. Vacationers can eat their fill from vendors who will be serving Potato Pancakes, Reubens, and juicy Bratwursts. Wash the hearty food down with a cold, frothy beer or soft drink. The festival will also accompany guests with fun German music and dance. To cover entrance fees, suggested donations are $5 for adults and $3 in advance. Active and retired military members, children, and festival members are free.
San Antonio offers plenty of other area attractions, including the large Seaworld, packed with shows, rides, and iced beverages to cool off from the heat. Once you're inside the park, you can pick out whichever shows interest you most, with incredible tricks from the likes of dolphins, killer whales and even sea lions. Your jaw will drop as professional trainers perform acrobatic tricks and dive deep into the water below.
Another theme park, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, San Antonio, is guaranteed to fulfill the dreams of visitors both young and old. The phenomenal rides, including the inverted Goliath, backwards Boomerang, and rickety wooden Rattler are just a few rides to get the heart racing. Bring the swimsuit for a chance to try the rides at White Water, which connects to Six Flags. The area has water rides like Big Bender, Texas Treehouse and the Whirlpool.
