Experience Texan Culture During Your Next Vacation In San Antonio, TX

Thankfully, when visiting San Antonio there are a number of interesting attractions that can help fill travelers in on the past culture and important happenings that have come together to make Texas what it is today. Whether you prefer browsing a quiet museum or hitting the streets to explore, there are a variety of ways to enjoy yourself while still learning of Texas and its rich history.

Alamo Reflections Tour

The Alamo is easily a must-see attraction when visiting San Antonio, and houses the history of one of Texas' most epic battles. The Alamo was originally built in 1718 as a mission, though the compound is most noted for the deadly military stand-off it housed in 1836. Along the tour, visitors will visit the various buildings that comprise the Alamo, as well as stop by sites including Mission San Jose and Mission Conception.

Institute of Texan Cultures

The Institute of Texan Cultures provides more than 50,000 square feet of Texas culture and history through a variety of different exhibits. In particular, the effects of the diverse Texas population are focused upon, with over 26 different ethnic groups being showcased. From the early Native Americans of the area to today’s booming city structures, almost everything Texas is covered at the Institute of Texan Cultures.

King Williams Carriage Tours

Those wanting a more hands-on approach to learning of the history of Texas will find the King Williams Carriage Tour to be an interesting trip through the streets of San Antonio. You’ll be led by horse-drawn Victorian carriage through the King Williams Historic District, viewing irrigated mission farmlands and regal homes as your tour guide fills you in with interesting facts.
