San Antonio Summer Art & Jazz Festival
As summer approaches, San Antonio is set to heat up with its annual San Antonio Summer Art & Jazz Festival. Held from June 5th through 7th at Crockett Park, the San Antonio Summer Art & Jazz Festival features ten jazz concerts, an arts and crafts fair, and numerous options for enjoying Texas cuisine. Additionally, two free jazz workshops will be held during the festival, with both workshops geared towards burgeoning musicians in middle and high school. 2009 San Antonio Summer Art & Jazz Festival Concert Line-Up
Those looking to beat the heat of summer while attending the San Antonio Summer Art & Jazz Festival will want to look into Splashtown Waterpark. Opening on May 16, the park should be running at full capacity by the time of the Art & Jazz Festival, and features a cool contrast to the hot sounds of the festival. Throughout 20 acres, guests will find more than 50 attractions ranging from a wave pool and lazy river to Kid’s Kove, an area with activities designed specifically for children, and numerous thrilling slide and tube rides. 1 If you would like to be close to Crockett Park while visiting San Antonio for the Summer Art & Jazz Festival, El Tropicano Riverwalk offers a unique stay less than a half mile from Crockett Park. A mixture of Latin tropics and 60’s fashion combine at El Tropicano Riverwalk with a tropical outdoor café, unique architecture, and rich history – El Tropicano Riverwalk was the first hotel located on the famed Paseo del Rio.
Whether a fervent fan of jazz or simply looking for a way to combine great music with the attractions and landmarks of San Antonio, the Summer Art & Jazz Festival, Splashtown Waterpark, and El Tropicano Riverwalk makes for an excellent weekend vacation in San Antonio!
