As part of a fun 10 day vacation to Galveston we spent a few nights in a luxury villa at the Holiday Inn Club Vacations Galveston Seaside Resort - and loved it. What an impressive villa and resort with lots of fun amenities. The Holiday Inn Club Vacations Galveston Seaside resort is on the south west side of Galveston Island about 17 miles from the historic Strand District. We stayed in a new 4 story building with 37 Villas that opened in March 2017 - the Villas all have balconies with fantastic views of the beach which is 100 yards from the front door. Can't get much better than that!
Across the street from the beach and the new Villas is the main resort complex with 16 buildings that are home to 192 units - 180 are 2 bedroom suites and 12 are 3 bedroom suites, all of which are fully furnished. The office and the vast majority of the amenities are on this side of the resort.
We've stayed in a lot of resorts and the Holiday Inn Club Vacations Galveston Seaside Resort Villa that we stayed in was one of the more nicely appointed and well done Villas we have experienced. There are a lot of little touches that add up quickly making this Villa unique and special. Take the kitchen as an example:
Amid just some of the other things that separate the Holiday Inn Club Vacations Galveston Seaside Resort Villas from the competition include: comfortable upscale furniture and artwork; a huge washer and dryer; soft comfortable beds with high thread count sheets and fluffy pillows; a huge soaker tub in the master bedroom; soft large bath room towels; a large well appointed master bedroom with a fantastic view of the beach; dual rainhead shower heads in a glass enclosed tile shower; bedroom fans that don't squeak or wobble and they even have a remote control; big normal sized bars of soap (I hate those little bars of soap you'll find at most hotels and resorts); soft bath robes; a make-up stool as part of the spacious dual sink bathroom; large screen TVs in each room; and more. We weren't expecting all of that and it made our stay very enjoyable.
We also loved the balcony with a round wood top table and four cushioned chairs overlooking the infinity pool and the beach. Speaking of the beach, each morning it was raked and all of the seaweed that came ashore during the night was removed!
The Holiday Inn Club Seaside Resort is also loaded with some great amenities:
Even with all that I think our favorite was the hot tub and large infinity pool with a swim up bar - all of which is over looking the beach. The beach is less than 100 yards from the Resort and pool and twice a week the beach is raked by the Resort to keep it clear of seaweed that is found on the Galveston beaches.
If for some reason you can't book a stay at Holiday Inn Club Vacations Galveston Seaside Resort, then you might try it's sister property which is about 5 miles up the road and a little closer to downtown Galveston. The Holiday Inn Club Vacations Galveston Beach Resort which is one of very few resorts with direct beach access. It's five floors are home to 122 rooms, 78 of which are suites.
Here you'll find a variety of villa options all of which have partial ocean views from this U shaped building:
Some of the amenities you can enjoy in addition to direct access via a 200 foot boardwalk to the beach include: a beautiful infinity pool and hot tub with views of the ocean; basketball court and sand volleyball court; fitness center; shuffleboard; activity room with games and movies; and a business center with computers and printers.
So, if you're planning on heading to Galveston for a vacation or weekend getaway and you want great lodging options on the beach, then try either one of these two Holiday Inn Club Vacation Resorts. I think that you'll also find that their rates are very reasonable for such a quality resort.
