Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort Type: Camping - RV Park Map: Campsite Map Reservations: Click here Special Offer: Click here Texas Outside Favorite Sites: The sites around the ponds are fantastic.
Brief Overview: Gulf Waters has done a excellent job of landscaping the entire Resort by adding palm trees, grass, freshwater ponds, plants, and flowers. In addition, some of the site owners have added their own structures, landscaping, and amenities to their site. Some of these enhancement include: stone grills and cooking areas, wet bars, stone work, flowering plants, and shrubs - all of which are very well done and further enhance the beauty of the Resort. Another advantage of Gulf Waters is that it is away from the hustle and bustle of the cities, provides all of the modern conveniences, yet close enough for day trips to Port Aransas and Corpus, and only a 2 to 3 hour drive to San Antonio, Houston, or Mexico.Amenities and Fun Things To Do: All of the roads are paved and wide enough for the largest rigs to maneuver easily. There are no pull throughs, the sites are back-in for travel trailers or drive-in for motorhomes. The drive-in sites mean you have an outstanding view of the ponds and landscaping from your motorhome. All of the sites are full hook-ups with 20/30/50 AMP service. Each site has concrete circular tables with bench seating. The sites are very spacious with wide decorated concrete pads and lush grassy areas on three sides of the site. A number of the sites surround four small freshwater ponds. The ponds are home to native birds, turtles, and ducks and make for a peaceful and beautiful setting, particularly during sunrise or sunset. Gulf Waters has over 600 feet of sandy beach front along the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. A short walk of less than 300 feet over a berm walkway and you're on the beach. Some of the other amenities at this fantastic Resort include:
Gulf Waters has an Activities Director who has planned a number of fun things to do each month for owners and guests. Visit the events calender to find out what's going on during your visit. A Typical Texas Outsider Day: We love staying at Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort because of it's peacefulness, friendly atmosphere, and convenient location to lots to see and do. On our typical three day stay, we will spend a day exploring the Rockport/Fulton area and Port Aransas. In Port A, we like to park the car and bike everywhere - to the beach, to the park and along the jetty and marina, and to the restaurants and bars. Last time we visited the beach, there were three kite surfers and it was fun watching them ride the waves and catch some air. If you have time take a lesson from Third Coast Kitesurfing - what a fun and very thrilling sport. The beach has a long jetty that is good for fishing or a short walk. The next day we spend recovering which means some pool, hot tub, and beach time. Our beach time consists of some beach games (darts, Frisbee golf, washers, and boccie ball), biking along the surf, kite flying (which typically results in kite wars and broken kites!), and swimming in the warm water. The third day we like exploring Corpus Christi to enjoy their good restaurants; bike along the waterfront which offers beautiful views of the marinas, boats, bay, and city skyline; visit the aquarium or USS Lexington; and end the evening at Brewster Ice House for good music, good times, and cold beer.
Cool Nearby Activities: Port A is well known as a center for bay, flats, jetty, surf, and offshore fishing. If you didn't come across the ferry, it's kinda fun to ride it across and back and watching the surfing dolphins. We enjoy biking around the city and to the beach. You can also drive or camp on the beach. There are a number of good restaurants and some very fun local bars. See the Texas Outside Port Aransas Page to learn more about Port A. We spent a few hours biking and exploring Rockport and Fulton on our last trip and found a fun restaurant/bar, great bike ride along the bay and into a beautiful residential district with huge homes, boats, and a waterfront cafe and bar in the marina - a perfect place to take a break and enjoy lunch and a drink. Here is a link to more info on Fulton and Rockport. If you like birdwatching, you're going to love Rockport and Port A. We enjoy exploring Corpus, which is also well know for it's fishing. We like to bike along the seawall, visit the aquarium and USS Lexington, and play golf. To learn more about Corpus, click here. Speaking of golf, just down the road, Arnold Palmer is building a signature 18 hole golf course called Newport Dunes as a part of a new development called Newport Beach & Golf Community. The course looks like it will be fantastic and should open in the spring of 2008. Visit the Newport Beach site to learn more. To find some other courses in the area, see the Texas Outside Golf Map. Enjoy your stay at Gulf Waters - plan on spending a few extra days to enjoy the Resort and explore the area.
