Brief Overview:
Guadalupe River RV Park sits on over 380 acres of naturally wooded beautiful ranch land in the Texas hill country. The park has seven-tenths of a mile of frontage on the Guadalupe River. The RV sites are sitting on a level open part of this working cattle ranch.
Guadalupe River RV Park is eco friendly and owned by 5th generation stewards and they were awarded the Texas Family Land Heritage Award by the State of Texas recognizing over 100 continuous years of operations having begun in 1871. The Park is conveniently located to highways 46 and 281 which provide easy access to lots of nearby fun things to see and do. Service is very country friendly.
Amenities and Fun Things To Do:

Guadalupe River RV Park opened in 2005 and now has 57 sites of which 47 have full hook-ups with modern lighted 20/30/50 amp service. The other 12 sites are river front tent only sites. The RV sites are a mixture of back-in and pull through, some of which are 39' wide and 97' long proving over 3300 square feet of camping space. Most sites have picnic tables and all have a fire ring for campfires and roasting marshmallows. The park is landscaped with crepe myrtle and live oak and pecan trees which have struggled to mature due to drought. The premier sites provide a great view and easy access to the Guadalupe River.
In addition to the campsites, there is a one bedroom cabin with a full kitchen and room for four that is available for rent if you don't want to camp. Two more cabins will open in the spring of 2010.
Some of the other amenities of Guadalupe River RV Park include:
-
wireless Internet access
-
laundry and vending machines
-
an office with RV staples, ice, and more
-
restrooms and showers
-
phone hook-up
With three quarters of a mile of riverfront, this section of the Guadalupe is great for fishing, swimming, canoeing, tubing, kayaking, or just sitting on the bank enjoying the scenery. The park can also make arrangements for a tube rental and a shuttle service that will pick you up at the front office.
Also located on the ranch is a million year old natural resource named after the owners father' nickname - Snookies Cave. This is a living cavern with soda straws, stalagmites, and other beautiful cavern formations. Guided adventure tours lasting an hour and a half will take you through the cavern. You'll get suited up in gloves, knee pads, and helmets and go on a fun tour exploring the cavern as you crawl through some tight spots or marvel at some of huge caverns.
Miles of ranch road that meander through the 380 acres are available for hiking and biking.
A Typical Texas Outsider Day:
Guadalupe River RV Park is a perfect place for us to park the rig and explore the area. We enjoy tubing and swimming in the river and taking advantage of some of the nearby golf courses. Some of our nearby favorites include: Tapatio Spings 27 holes of golf, Canyon Lake, and Bandera, the Cowboy Capital of Texas.
Cool Nearby Activities:
Guadalupe RV Park is centered among an array of Texas Hill Country communities just 30 minutes away including Boerne, Blanco, Bandera, New Braunfels, or San Antonio. Within an hour are San Marcos, Seguin, Kerrville, Bandera, Comfort, Fredericksburg, Johnson City and Stonewall. And in just over an hour you'll can be enjoying everything Austin has to offer or boating on the Highland Lakes. Check our our Central Texas Map to find each of the above and all the fun things to see and do.
If you like golfing, you have some excellent choices within an hour - this Central Texas Golf Map will help you find a nearby golf course. Canyon Lake is nearby and it is one the prettiest lakes in Texas and excellent for any water related activities. You shouldn't get bored with a lack of nearby things to see and do when you stay at Guadalupe River RV Park and Campground. Have fun.

Texas Outside uses a tough rating scale and it’s difficult for a campground to get a “10”. Each park is rated on:
- Scenic Beauty: a campground that is flat with no trees or character gets a “1” and hills, lots of trees, beautiful lake site, and lush ground cover gets a “10”
- Park Condition: the cleaner, well kept, and maintained campgrounds receive high scores
- Amenities: we are looking for lots of amenities like restrooms, dump stations, playgrounds, boat ramps, shelters, concession stand, rental toys, and more.
- Campsites: low scores are given for sites that are right next to each other (good for getting to know your neighbors, but not what we’re looking for when we’re camping); have no lantern holder, no water or electricity, no fire pit, no grill, or no picnic table (or it’s rotten wood); have no trees and no view; the ground cover is crushed rock (my bare feet hate that stuff!); and they require a lot of work to get your rig level.
- Things To Do: Bonus points are given for campgrounds that offer lots of fun things to do at the park or very nearby – this includes: biking, hiking, climbing, boating, entertainment, golf, swimming, fishing, volleyball, horseshoes, and more
