Fun Vacations

This page is dedicated to fun vacations in and outside of Texas. We have added some of our vacations that will give you ideas on what to see and do if you take a trip to the same place. Paragliding off 11,000 Aspen Mountain

Aspen & Snowmass - four days of fantastic hiking with unbelievable views in the Colorado mountains, some fun scenic biking along the Roaring Fork River to a well know bar for margaritas (and a taxi ride back to Aspen, golfed at a very scenic, fun and challenging course, and jumped off the top of Aspen Mountain and paraglided 3000' feet to the bottom - what a thrill.

Big Bend Trip - wow, what a fun 14 day vacation to and from Big Bend National Park. We golfed our way out to Big Bend, hiked on several trails with spectacular views, biked in Big Bend State Park, hung out with some real characters in Terlingua, enjoyed Lajitas Resort and Spa, had a thrilling and very scenic raft trip down the Rio Grande River and through the sheer bluffs of Santa Elena Canyon, explored the Caverns of Sonora, and linked up with our family for three days on a house boat on Lake Amistad, and finally played some more golf on the way home. Fun trip!

Colorado Ski Vacation - what a fun seven days in Colorado skiing several ski areas (Copper Mountain, Vail, and Beaver Creek), snowmobiling through the powder and trees, cross county skiing to dinner in a yurt, zooming down the mountain on a snowbike, enjoying a dinner and a sleigh ride on a working Colorado Ranch, and much more. A fun filled week.

Myrtle Beach Vacation - what a busy and fun seven days where we played 198 holes of golf on several Golf Digest Top 100 Courses plus found some time to rent jet skis for a fun couple hours, go to three different productions/shows, have fun racing cars, cruise the Inland Waterway on a pontoon boat, visit a sculpture garden, fly over Myrtle Beach in a helicopter, bike along the boardwalk and enjoy a lot of the local beach bars!

New Mexico's Santa Fe Golf Trail Vacation - if you like golfing some excellent golf courses and staying in some great resorts, most of which have casinos and spas and good restaurants and pools and more, than this article should be of interest to you.

Our week's vacation included 180 holes of golf on 8 eight fantastic courses, four outstanding resorts, three casinos, and lots more fun.

Orlando Vacation - seven days in the amusement capital of the world where we swam with the manatees, fly a WWII fighter trainer, drove an Indy Car 140 miles an hour, sky dived in a wind tunnel, parasailed, saw gators on an airboat ride, played nine golf courses, and more!

Palm Springs Vacation - Palm Springs offers lots of see and do - we went hiking, took a jeep tour, lost some money at the casinos, saw a polo match, and played some fantastic golf courses.

Panama City Beach Vacation - to escape the cold Texas winter, bask in the sun, play in sand, golf a lot, and take in the sights, it was off to Panama City Beach for a New Years Eve vacation

Golfing In Scottsdale - this vacation was dedicated to golfing (we played 150 holes in 6 days!) but we also found time for hot air ballooning, kayaking the Salt River, exploring Sedona and Jerome, off-road jeeping, and sliding down the river chutes at Slide Rock.

Staying & Playing in Sedona - wow, what a fantastic place to enjoy nature, the outdoors, and stunning scenery. And there are lots of fun things to see and do ranging from hot air balloons to climbing to off road jeep tours to slipping down water shoots. Plus unique lodging, good restaurants, and friendly people.

South Padre Island Winter Vacation - we wanted to escape the cold weather and pretend we were winter Texans, so off to South Padre Island we went. What a great time - we played six golf courses, went parasailing, watched dolphins frolicking in the Bay, went on a cruise with some rowdy pirates on their pirate ship, rode ATVs and horses on the beach, biked around historic Port Isabel and South Padre Island, enjoyed a sunset dinner cruise on a 48' catamaran, hit every beach bar, ate way too much, and enjoyed the fireworks on New Years Eve.

Snowmass Vacation - we used a wedding in Snowmass as our excuse to spend a few extra days in Snowmass enjoying all that it and Aspen have to offer. We attended a rodeo, drifted over the mountains in a hot air balloon, hiked a number of trails, kayaked down the Roaring Fork River, and biked around Aspen. What a blast - read all about it and book a trip to duplicate it. Have fun.

West Texas & Big Bend Adventure - three days golfing our way to Big Bend to go on an ATV tour, take several hikes in Big Bend National Park, stay in an upscale resort with fantastic amenities and a unique B&B in a recreated old western town, take an off road 4x4 tour, attend a two day fantastic music festival, and golf our way back to Dallas
