Granbury, Texas

Granbury is picturesquely situated on Lake Granbury and the town square was named "The Best Town Square in Texas" by the readers of Texas Courthouse in the squareHighways Magazine. Granbury Cemetery is the final resting place of Jesse James and there are plenty of resting places for visitors in the many B&Bs which are in historic buildings. The Town Square has a number of quaint shops and good restaurants. Lake Granbury offers good fishing and boating activities. We have had a number of enjoyable visits to Granbury and plan to expand the Granbury page in the near future. In the meantime, check out the information in the box below.

Some of the fun things to see and do in Granbury include:

  • visit the downtown historical district and spend some money in the quaint shops and restaurants around the square
  • explore Lake Granbury - boat, fish, swim, cruise, and eat at the Groggy Dawg (excellent food and music on the deck of this floating restaurant) - read the review of Lake Granbury for more information on the lake and where to rent a boat or jet ski
  • take in a play or musical at the Granbury Opera House (they have outstanding fun musicals) r at Granbury Live, both of which are on the square
  • stay at any of the many B&Bs in Granbury's historical homes or elegant homes - we like Inn on Lake Granbury a luxurious lakefront B&B, within walking distance to the Granbury Square, and a beautiful setting
  • schedule a weekend trip around one of the fun events like General Granbury's Birthday Party and the Brazos River Music Fest
  • play golf at one of the nearby golf courses
  • cruise over to nearby Glen Rose and explore all it has to offer
