Glamping Tents on the San Marcos River

Glamping which is defined as glorious camping is the newest fad to hit Texas. To me, glamping means camping without all the pain of having to set up a tent, blow up the air mattress only to have it go flat in the middle of the night and no electricity or water. Here is the best place to tent glamp on the San Marcos River.

Blue River Cabanas

Blue River Camp is located on a beautiful stretch of the San Marcos River in Kingsbury, about 15 miles south of Lockhart. Blue River Camp is home to 18 clamping sites with 18' x 24' tents which form a horseshoe around the lighted sand volley ball court, a big fire pit, and an event stage. The open end of the horseshoe leads to some really cool one and two story tiki cabanas with hammocks, nice wicker furniture, a hammock, Webber grill and more overlooking the San Marcos River.

Each glamping tent, all of which are shaded by some towering trees, have two cots with soft foam mattresses, a couple lights, and a small table with two fans to keep you cool plus an outside picnic table, water spicket, and light.

A few feet away from the river are very cool one and two story tiki cabanas that that have wicker furniture, new Weber grills, a hammock, a fan, water, and picnic table. The river is perfect for tubing, swimming, fishing, or just relaxing in one of the beach chairs in the water.
