Loma de Vida Spa & Wellness Center La Cantera Resort & Spa

When we heard that Loma de Vida Spa & Wellness had opened at La Cantera Resort & Spa in late 2016 we couldn't wait to get there to experience what we expected to be one of the best spas in Texas. And when we finally got a chance to visit in June 2017 we weren't disappointed. Like La Cantera Resort & Spa, Loma de Vida offers you a first class unequalled experience in a stunning 25,000 square foot secluded sanctuary immersed in nature and situated on one of the highest points in San Antonio with breath taking views of the Hill Country and the first golf hole of the Resort golf course. The architecture, the landscaping, private gardens, use of glass to let the outside in, and the way that the Spa has been incorporated into the hillside (Loma de Vida is "Ridge Life" in Spanish) is stunning and sets the stage for a relaxing, refreshing, rejuvenating, and peaceful experience.

Loma de Vida Spa

Loma de Vida is a short walk through a tunnel under the street in front of the lobby and slightly downhill from the Resort. When we emerged from the tunnel and saw the colorful landscaping, water features, Hill Country views, and the unique architecture we knew we were in for a fabulous experience. And it was one of best spa experiences we've ever had. In addition to first class service and attention to detail, Loma de Vida has:

  • Loma de Vida Spa Poolfifteen treatment rooms with a variety of services ranging from massages to facials to hair and nails
  • men's and women's solariums and private gardens
  • salt infused pools including an infinity edge pool and jacuzzi with a beautiful view
  • well equipped fitness center
  • upscale men and women facilities with lockers, showers, herbal steam rooms, Himalayan salt saunas, and indoor saline vitality pools
  • plenty of space with soft comfortable furniture to relax and enjoy the soothing music and stunning views

In addition to the wide variety of treatments (deep tissue massage to signature rituals or body treatments), Loma de Vida also offers active movement classes including spinning, TRX suspension training, and fusion of movement as well as passive classes (like art, breathing, or meditation) and several varieties of yoga classes.

As soon as we arrived we were warmly greeted by a friendly and outgoing staff and led to our locker rooms. I was shown around the facilities and encouraged to use them for as long as desired after my treatment. I put on my soft comfortable robe and enjoyed the view while I waited a couple minutes for my masseuse. I was really surprised when I was lead away from the standard treatment rooms (which are very well done), down a flight of stairs, and into a private open air cabana style treatment room - wow! I hated to lay face down and miss the view but it only took a minute to relax and enjoy a perfect massage! So after the massage I sat and relaxed, sipped my water, enjoyed the view, and wished all this could go on forever.

Sky loft at Loma de Vida SpaMrs Texas Outside chose the Longevity Facial for 60 minutes where she enjoyed the cellular renewal, nutritional replenishment for depleted skin and face illumination. She came out with a big smile on her face and looking great and said she was feeling like she had a more youthful and healthier appearance. Next time we decided that we would sign up for the private sky loft which the picture on the right.

After we were done with our treatments we were so relaxed that we decided to forgo the Resorts pool and bar and stick around Loma de Vida and soak up the sun and cool water in the infinity pool. And when I discovered that the Quenche Juicery at Loma de Vida served more than just beer and wine, I had to indulge in a couple signature garden cocktails like the Barbados Dreams which was made with toasted coconut infused cruose organic white rum, coconut water, and pineapple-ginger syrup. I was in heaven for the next couple hours, The Quenche Juicery also serves shakes and juices and healthy lunch and breakfast items.

What a fantastic experience!!! Click here to return to our review of La Cantera Resort & Spa.
