Basketball is alive and kicking in the state and if you’re in the Houston, Dallas or San Antonio region don’t forget to schedule some time to take in a game.

And even if you do not have enough time to watch a full game, passing by the stadium and fan shop is still a great idea. You can buy plenty of memorabilia, or gift for someone close who would love to get their hands on some Texas sports team gear.

San Antonio Spurs

Texas’ most popular basketball team was first established in 1967. Over the years, the team has managed to add an impressive number of NBA titles to their collection – by winning the 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2014 titles. They are playing their games at the AT&T center, and you should certainly consider planning your Texas vacation so you can visit at least one match day. You will not be disappointed with the atmosphere and excitement that the San Antonio Spurs’ games provide the public with.

Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks are another fan-favorite of many Texas. First established in 1980, the team had to wait a while before seeing their first NBA championship – in 2011. While their recent form has been lackluster in comparison with the San Antonio Spurs, you can still expect a packed arena if you decide to visit one of their games. The Dallas Mavericks has been playing their games at the American Airlines Center since 2001.
