Frio River Vacation Resort & Lodging

It just doesn't get much better than spending a vacation, a weekend, or a few days in a vacation rental or lodging on the Frio River. The word frio is Spanish for cold, a clear reference to the spring-fed coolness of the Frio River. The Frio River flows 200 miles from it's spring feed mouth to where it empties into the the Nueces River south of the town of Three Rivers. One of the most popular areas for a vacation on the Frio River is around the small town of Concan. The river flows through some of the prettiest parts of the Texas Hill County and offers plenty of recreational opportunities including swimming in the clear cool water, fishing, tubing, kayaking, golfing, hiking, biking, and much more. This page is dedicated to one of the places we have stayed during our visit and vacation to the Frio River.

Texas Outside Review

A day in the Frio River at Frio Country Resort

What a fantastic place to stay if you want to explore and enjoy this beautiful section of the Frio River. Frio Country Resort offers one of the widest selections of lodging that we have seen in a Texas resort. You can choose from one bedroom rustic cabins near the banks of the Frio River to a 4 bedroom, 4 bath country home with a swimming pool.

The Frio Country Resort rental prices are reasonable and you can find something that sleep from 2 to over 20 of your family or friends. The lodging options range from very rustic and rather spartan to very well done and equipped with everything you'll need for a weekend or longer. The majority of the lodging options have a full kitchen, AC and heating, TVs, kitchen utensils, dishwasher, and more. Some have washers and dryers, picnic tables, grills, outdoor swings, lofts that the kids will love, pool tables, volleyball courts, and lots more.

Frio Country Resort also has cabins with views and easy access to the Frio River; a well stocked country store with food, clothes, tube rentals, and more; a great restaurant and music venue called the House Pasture Cattle Country; and a fantastic 18 hole golf course - here is a link to our review of .

And Frio Country Resort is close to lots of fun things to see and do including tubing, horse back riding, rafting, kayaking, fishing, scenic helicopter rides, hunting, hiking, biking, scenic drives, golfing, and more. You'll have a blast and will sleep well in any of the Frio Country Resort beds after a fun filled day.
