Dripping Springs Texas Things To Do

Located about 20 miles south of downtown Austin, Dripping Springs Texas got it's Dripping Springs Texasname in 1857 from the "dripping springs at the Milk House Branch of the Edwards Aquifer, a gathering place for the Tonkawa Indians. Dripping Springs became a stagecoach stop and part of a freight line that ran between Austin and Fredericksburg and the last reported Indian raid occurred in 1872. Today, Dripping Springs is a thriving and growing Hill Country community with a population of around 67,000 people. Dripping Springs and the surrounding area is full of lots of fun things to see and do ranging from swimming holes to limestone climbing to a fun and lively dance hall plus breweries, distilleries, and wineries and lots more!
