Fort Phantom Hill Lake

Fort Phantom Hill Lake SunsetFort Phantom Hill Lake is on the north side of Abilene and it is 4,213 acres and has maximum dept of 66 feet. The lake has several day use areas, a couple campgrounds, boat ramps, some coves for fishing and swimming, kayak and SUP rentals, and good boarding. The area around the lake is rich with history and artifacts including Fort Phantom Hill which was a US Army and Confederate Army that was active from 1852 to 1853.

We've heard that Abilene is going to start pumping very clean affluent water into Fort Phantom Hill Lake which will make the lake one of the few constant level lakes in Texas.
