Arlington 5-7
This event includes Scottish music and dancing, Scottish breed dog show, sheep dog trails, fiddlers contest, shortbread contest, photo contest, and a bagpipe contest. Live continuous entertainment in four tents
Corpus Christi 5-7
Texas Jazz and Country Singer/Songwriters rule this year's festivities with a Friday night show by star inductee Stoney Larue. The event is two days of FREE outdoor live concerts and two nights of great headliners inside our live music venue, the Executive Surf Club.
San Antonio 5-7
SAS Fest features 10 great jazz concerts, an Arts and Crafts Fair and delicious Texas cuisine. Presenting great fun and entertainment fun for the whole family.
Canyon 5-Aug 15
Don't miss the 2009 performance of TEXAS a musical drama of ! panhandle history. Whether in tears of passion or determination, the settlers of the Texas Panhandle had one thing in common: a romance with the west. Their pioneering spirit and willingness to risk anything to achieve everything kept their hopes alive.
Austin 11-14
The World’s largest Motorcycle Parade. Free Live Music in the heart of downtown. Major national bands will perform at the Travis County Expo Center and Rally Grounds.
Overton 12-14
In a beautiful outdoor environment you will be entertained with great music, musical workshops, arts & crafts, children’s activities, and a variety of good food and drink concessions. This is their 21st Annual Bluegrass Festival.
Austin 12-13
These are fun outdoor concerts that feature popular music arrangements everyone can enjoy. Bring a blanket for a night of free music under the stars. The kids will love to dance to the music.
Aransas Pass 12-14
Shrimporee features continuous live music with bands playing country, tejano and rock music. The main stage features two acts on Friday night, up to five acts on Saturday, and up to 4 acts on Sunday.
Blanco 12-14
It is a great local attraction where people get together for one reason, LAVENDER! This festival is the highlight of a month long celebration encompassing everything from food and wine to music, educational programs, crafts, gardening, art, cooking, and so much more. 
San Antonio 12-14
This 3 day festival showcases the Lone Star State's diversity and rich heritage.
San Marcos 13
"Worlds Toughest Canoe Race". 260 mile canoe race begins at Aquarena Center and continues to the Gulf Coast.
Albany 18-27
The oldest outdoor musical in Texas, it is still directed, lighted, costumed, sung and danced by the people of Albany in its own prairie theater. It has been produced since 1938 and has grown into a community production, staged in an acre-sized amphitheater with a cast and crew of over 400.
Midlothian 19-21
Balloons in mass ascension. Competitors in tough targeted competition. Lite the Nite Balloon Glow on Saturday night.
Elgin 23-27
Proven as one of Elgin's best festivals and annual homecoming events, come out and be a part of this unique and affordable event in Bastrop County which thousands attend
Pecos 24-27
After 126 years spectators come from all directions to see the riders, the horses, the cattle. The excitement still builds for each yearly presentation, and the voices are still heard as they whisper and wonder, "who is the best?"
Lulling 25-28
Watermelon! says "Summer!" like nothing else. Thousands enjoy this four-day outdoor festival honoring the nutritious, wonderful watermelon and you hear great music.
Houston 26-28
Support Dads Club and Houston Food Drive by attending this event which features among others music by Kevin Black and Roger Creager, unique art, lots of crawfish, and fun for the kids, too.
Luckenbach 27
Gates open at noon and singing by Willie Nelson's daughter and the Lonestar Bluegrass Band from 1:00-2:30 followed by a chili cook-off, what promises to be a real boot-scootin boogie will begin with 3 hours of great Texas music including some special songs about linemen.
San Antonio 27
This event offers travelers a wide variety of draws and activities throughout the day, with activities typically including face painting and play areas for the children, storytellers, fair rides, arts and crafts and a variety of dining options. It is held the last Saturday of each month.
Bandera 27

Addison's most explosive party of the year. Dazzling fireworks are choreographed to music and simulcast on the radio plus food, live music and spectacular historic warplane fly-bys.
Lubbuck 3-4
The largest free festival in Texas,” has been a popular community-wide celebration featuring exciting events for children and adults of all ages including an Independence Day Parade, street fair and an evening concert ending with a fantastic firework display.
Mabank 3-4
They plan to have an outstanding list of scheduled pilots and aircraft that you will not want to miss! Also, make sure to stick around for the spectacular fireworks that will follow the aerobatic presentation of skilled pilots and awesome aircraft.
Granbury 3-4
With arts and crafts on the historic downtown square, a patriotic parade, ranch rodeos and one of the best fireworks display in Texas you can't help but be filled with American pride and get your toes tapping to some great music.
Houston 4
This event will feature country music star Clay Walker; the largest land-based fireworks show in the nation; a statewide sand volleyball championship; activities galore for kids and families; plenty of live music and more.  In addition, this year's event will salute Houston's military heroes and honor the 40th anniversary of NASA's Apollo XI Lunar Landing.
Okemah, OK 8-12
What a wonderful celebration of the life of Woody Gutherie - multiple venues and four days of fantastic music from a variety of musicians. And it's FREE! Don't miss this one - read our reviews of previous Woody Fests.
Port Aransas 9-12
The Oldest Fishing Tournament on the Texas Coast.” A weekend of family fun includes piggy perch, bay, offshore and fly fishing divisions, dinners, and music.
Dallas 10-12
It's Dallas' biggest summer event, the West End's Taste of Dallas, with more music, food and outdoor fun. Continuous live musical entertainment on several stages featuring alternative rock and pop to cool jazz and hot Tejano rhythms.
Brenham 18-Aug 9
4 Big Weekends. You get purple feet,a special T-shirt (“I picked,I stomped, I made some wine”) and a picture. You also will enjoy the spectacular view from the carefully reconstructed old barn that will whet your palate for wine-tasting following a tour of the vineyard through the path of the grape as it makes the wondrous transformation from vine to fruit to wine.
Fredericksburg 17-18
Celebrate the area’s German heritage over two fun-filled days of live entertainment, arts & crafts, traditional foods, and dancing

The first weekend in August represents the kick off of the celebration for August Jazz Month and the beginning festivities of the Annual Houston International Jazz Festival.

Midland 7-8
Rock the Desert will hold the tenth annual festival. The lineup will include Toby Mac, Chris Tomlin, Switchfoot, Anberlin and many more.
Austin 22
This event will feature Arts, Crafts, Music, Food, Bat Watching, Children's Activities, and Educational Displays. With Scenic backdrop of Town Lake and downtown Austin. Come out and see between 1.5 and 2 million Mexican Free Tail Bats while shopping for creative items made in Austin. See over 30 bands on two stages.
Kerrville 28-30
This festival which presents 35 songwriters and the products of a dozen Texas winemakers. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the concerts, wine tastings, and wine seminars at the outdoor theater at Quiet Valley Ranch.
Waco 29
The 14th annual Margarita & Salsa Festival will feature the best country music in Texas with The Randy Rogers Band, Cross Canadian Ragweed and Kevin Fowler and will continue the tradition of the popular contest where local restaurants and individuals vie for the title of Best Margarita, Salsa, Queso and / or Guacamole.

24th Thursday is Open Mic Party, Friday and Saturday are many bands scheduled for the Backpack Buddies benefit, as well as Brian Burns, Vince Bell, and Jessi Lynn in the mix on Saturday

Montgomery 16-18

The Toyota Texas Bass Classic (TTBC) is the world championship of the PAA Tournament Series and will be held October 16 – 18 on Lake Conroe. You'll find a kids area with outdoor activities, Jumbotron show continuous action, seminars, fishing industry expo, clinics, and music with Pat Green, Josh Turner, Zona Jones, and more.
