Lake Review
Lake Buchanan, the first in the chain of the six Highland Lakes, has some good lodging, pretty scenery, and coves for swimming and boarding, Fishing is ok and the lake is not as crowded as most of the other Highland Lakes.
The 7th largest lake in Texas with over 32,000 acres and 18 miles long. The terrain is flat and well treed and a large portion of the 220 miles of shoreline is developed.
Lake Conroe is fun for cruising (some beautiful humongous homes in Bentwater), lake side dining, fun bars, great golf, and more. Conroe is one of our top rated like because of all it has to offer for a fun weekend or longer.
Lake Grapevine offers an abundance of water activities from sailing to jet skiing as well as camping, hiking, biking and more convenient to visitors to the DFW area.
Constant level lake with lots of great rental property, a couple resorts, marinas, and lots of things to see and do nearby
Lake Lewisville is a 29,000 acre lake with 187 miles of shoreline. You'll find plenty of boat ramps, several campgrounds and day use parks, two good restaurants with live music, great golf courses surrounding the lake (one that you can boat up to), a challenging disc golf course, and a great party cove.
Lake Livingston is the 2nd largest lake located in Texas & has been called a "water wonderland" a perfect place to relax & enjoy yourself. Lake Livingston has plenty of options for lake-side camping, lodging, and dining. You'll find good fishing guides, a great golf course, and boat rentals - Livingston has everything you need for a fun filled weekend or longer.

With 11,000 acres, 85 miles of shoreline, and 13 miles of trails, Lake Somerville is very good for camping, fishing, and water related activities.

Huge lake with plenty of choices for camping and cabins, plus a good resort, great fishing, and sandy beaches
Lake Travis is the second lake in the famous Highland Lakes, which is a chain of 7 lakes that stair-step up the Colorado River from Austin.
A beautiful, scenic, and clear water lake with over 300 miles of shoreline. Something for everyone: good camping, lots of resorts and rentals, skiing, partying, fishing, home sites, or any water related activity.
Sam Rayburn is a beautiful east Texas lake with heavily treed terrain. There are lots of coves for fishing, skiing, boarding, or just dropping an anchor and enjoying the view. You'll also find plenty of sandy beaches and great swimming water.
One of the biggest lakes in Texas (would be the biggest if we didn't have to share half of it with Louisiana!) - excellent fishing, a great resort, good camping, & very scenic
